Shaylene Metcalf, LPC-T is a Licensed Professional Counselor under independent supervision. Shaylene graduated from Kansas State University with her Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology with a Minor in Family Studies and Human Development. Shaylene earned her Master of Education degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Wichita State University.
While gaining her Master’s degree, Shaylene worked as an intern counseling at New Perspectives with adults, youth, adolescents, families and couples. Before finishing her Master’s degree, Shaylene worked in community mental health settings in different behavioral health aid capacities starting in 2015. Shaylene has experience in counseling grief, loss, ADHD, trauma, workplace/school stress, anxiety, depression, LGBTQ+ identities, eating disorders, parent/child relationship navigation, spirituality, adoption/fostering navigation, and low self-esteem.
Shaylene works hard as a clinician to make her clients feel comfortable and safe in counseling by engaging in a positive professional relationship. Shaylene strives to stay on target with each client to meet their client-chosen goals in a reasonable time period while also helping clients to understand and manage various life stressors.
Shaylene is accepting new clients 13 years+ through private pay and insurance, with scheduling often available in the same week. She is able to see adult clients in-person or via telehealth, depending on the client’s needs and abilities.
