Susan has a deep passion for helping those who have gone through painful losses and trauma find hope
and healing again. She has 21 years of counseling experience, 14 years of which specializing in
substance use disorders. She approaches the counseling relationship with genuine compassion and
respect, and recognizes the dignity and uniqueness of each client. She counsels older teens and adults.
Areas of specialty include: addictions and co-dependency; anxiety, depression, and grief; abuse, trauma
and PTSD; spirituality; and trauma related chronic illness as well as issues related to medical traumas.
She utilizes the following approaches to therapy: cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational
interviewing, reality therapy, and art therapy. Susan is happy to offer telehealth counseling as well to
those who may have difficulties getting to therapy in person. As a Christian professional, she loves to
assist clients in finding true, lasting healing and new life, treating not only the mind, but the body and
spirit.
